Temporary Structure Experimentation - The following was developed over a 12 week period, all documentation and graphics were produced from Rhino 3.0.
The experimentation of 'Transitory Structures' was divided into three components, the brief called for various impermanent developments that would be suitable for construction during the Beijing Olympics. The proposals seek to provide functional structures that can be dismantled, re-arranged, expanded or re-located when required.
Throughout the process, I was active in exploring scale, movement and materiality. I was exposed to Rhino 3.0 and model making as a process of thought generation and design evolution. Each component explores diverse themes of Large, medium and small scale design. Particular consideration was developed with response to the potential of differing locations, various construction techniques and processes of project afterlife.
Each proposal aims to expand and shift the idea of 'city' building. My aspiration was to re-interpret the way people use city space and the way architects should manipulate function and material to provide widespread social and environmental benefits.
